In the early days of gaming when you needed a tip, you had to buy the hint book or call the 1-900 number that was conveniently placed on the manual urging kids to do their worst. One could also wait for the magazine to come out and hope that edition had the picture by picture walk through they were waiting for. Today getting help on a video game is quite a bit easier.

Many times especially for the popular games the submitted content is better than the publishers manuals and gives quite a bit of information away for free.
