Think of MMOG this is already a big industry with a virtual economy for instance in Second Life. This is a big money spinner, teh taxman is also interested and will get very competitive, so any edge one solution can have over another is key. Think of games such as the Sims where you simulate human behaviour and human human interactions.
I am not sure we will ever get a virtual Jane Goodall game where you can observe Gorillas for a virtual jungle, but who knows?
