What laptop to buy with little knowledge??
l asked a ?? about buying a new laptop and l’m more confused then ever. I am new to home laptops so l want to be able to browse, download music on dvd , print stuff, play Games, hook up a microphone, speakers and anything else that sounds good maybe video stuff don’t have the knowledge yet to really know. xp sounds like the best software but what about hardware. Want to be able to watch videos and listen to radio stations, l like typing and using the mouse!!! help simplify my life with exact answers and not several different options need at least 2GB ram and 128 GBhard drive correct????…Nancy
The first thing to decide about is your budget. If $1000 the choices are quite different than if it is closer to $500. Remember that you will have the laptop for 3-4 years, which is $250 a year.
Next think about the features … size, weight, battery life, display size, etc. Decide which features are most important.
I’m not sure why you feel you need 2GB or RAM and a 128GB hard drive? The applications you describe above, unless you are playing very intense games (specialized gaming machines like an XBOX are much less expensive) then you can get away with much less RAM and a much smaller hard drive.
IBM, Dell, HP and Toshiba all make excellent laptops. Once you have figured out your budget, the most important features then pick 2-3 models from the above manufactures and compare them and it will be much easier to figure out what would be best for your needs.
