How can I get more motivated about school?
I am a 10th grader, I am very smart (almost a certified genius, and in the 98th percentile on the PSATs), but I don’t give a crap about school because A) I am fairly secure in my future because I want to be a video game writer/designer, which does not require a great education, and B) School and success do not go hand in hand enough for me to be worried, statistically speaking. My grades are okay (I have a 3.6 GPA, but I should really have at least a 4.5, because honors and AP classes give you a 1 point boost, so GPA is out of 5 for honors and AP students). I have a ton of trouble focusing on homework, which is pretty much the only thing holding me back. While I don’t particularly care, my parents do, and they are always on my case about it, and I do feel bad for disappointing them. What do you recommend?
i know how you feel. my parents always expect me to always get 100%s, which is impossible!!!!!!! And school would be actually fun without homework. i deal with it by hanging out with my friends and choosing fun or easy electives.
