Video Game Jobs In Florida

Game Programmer Questions…..?
I always love to play video game and learning about computers.
I know that making a game and playing a game are two different things. But im really hoping in the future to find a job in game industry. Such as Wow/Diablo 2′s Company Blizzard.
Currently Im a Senior in High School -> College Next year. and Dont know any progarmming Languages.
I wont say that im very fast at learning. but faster than average.
So what should i start doing or learning and what classes should i take next year in college (community college for 2 years then a university. Florida)
Thank YOU
Take some computer science classes. Once you start learning a programming language, and if you are a quick study as you say, you will be making simple Games on your own in no time. It’s a shame you didn’t or couldn’t take any computer science classes in high school, it takes time to learn.
Some good classes to take related to game development are Trigonometry, Physics, Digital Imaging, and 3D Animation.
Also, get your skills up in Algebra. It might have seemed useless in high school, but almost all programming code has variables and equations, so algebra turns out to be pretty much the most useful subject for computer programming.
Trigonometry is very important for animation and 3d graphics. The sine function sin(x) defines a perfect curve. You can call upon that when programming to make circular shapes and smooth animation. It’s also very important for computing the polygons that make up 3d graphics.
Most colleges have classes in Flash. It’s a very easy platform to get started with making games. If you take a flash class, try to make a goal of creating a simple online game by the end of the course. That way, you’ll have something to show Blizzard.
Good Luck!
